The little ones have been a nightmare the past few nights. Iris is still being good and going in on her own, but the other three are not! Plus when they got in they would not settle down so have had to be separated for night times for some peace! Naughty babies π. Have you had any others behave like these at bedtime Marianne Marlow?

Your super brave to take 4 on at once for sure Marianne, as you said. your essentially integrating two flocks. I'm sure they will settle soon, they don't take long to pick up the routine, as you know. Their young age probably isn't helping, when there is a little group of youngsters if one act's up they all act up .

Hope things go better tonight Marianne Iris and Billy went in to their cage, so I shut the door. Then we had to put Daisy and Colin in a separate cage. It's shame, but they'd be squiggling at eachother all night otherwise. Perhaps at some point, when I can afford it, I'll get them a bigger cage, but I don't think the cage size is the issue! They seem to want to all bundle together, poor things. No doubt due to living in a titchy cage together. Separate them into pairs and they're fine!

Yes, lot's of newbie's take a few days to settle in, but with four, it seems it's quadruple trouble!!

Stupid more like, but I couldn't bear the thought of them being in a tiny cage with a cat in the house. I think Iris is a few months older than the other three as she worked out very quickly that if she goes in to her cage then she doesn't get grabbed. The others are young and silly. Colin and Daisy got startled and flew into the kitchen earlier.they were flying round in circles past the door and could not work out how to get back into the living room. Ten minutes of mayhem.

Sorry for laughing Marianne, I know it's not funny, but I had the same scenario when Ben & Max were babies, Ben flew into the kitchen, landed on the curtain rail, and he didn't know either, how to get back through, Max was going nuts in the living room calling to him.
I know it seems like mayhem at the minute, but I'm sure they'll settle.
You have, what I'd love to have, a house full of happy budgies.

jellybean, it's only funny after the fact! These four act just like Blithe when he came to us, he was 6 months old. Four Blithes!! These days he spends a lot of time in a cage, avoiding them because they are so full on. This lot would drive you to drink Jellybean!!

I hope it doesn't take long for them to catch on to the bedtime routine. They are having so much fun I don't blame them for not wanting to go to bed

Well i was being polite Marianne I wouldn't have been able to walk away from that situation either, i'm sure they will all calm down soon. Would it help maybe if you kept two of the more flighty ones in their cage for a little longer during the day or rotate who is coming out, i know its not ideal but it may just calm things down until they have settled more, just a thought.

Cheeky little monkeys! They look so innocent! I had to use your method with Peri tonight, Marianne, because he hadn't followed Munchy in to bed, but I think he was half asleep! He was super slippery, woke the whole neighbourhood and got his wings out so caused quite a fuss. Munchy wanted to know what on earth all the commotion was when he was trying to sleep and I have a nice pair of red bumps from Peri's beak.
