Yes. Wash first. I moved this so that more people will pick up your question. It wasn't really relevant where it was. It is best if you have a question to start your own thread - people will answer that way.

You can feed dandelion leaves or the yellow flowers, though the "seed" phase (the white puffball) isn't so good, not much in it bar use for a plaything! The flowers and greens have medicinal purposes and will do your birds wonders. When Cleo was sick when I found her in my garden, she was healing twice as fast as expected with daily dandies.

Good question Mick, I only thought they could eat the leaves too but you live and learn!

Has anyone successfully grown dandelions indoors??
I am a bit paranoid about picking wild dandelion in case I am not able to clean it properly, plus there is a lot of pollution around here.

I would never feed anything growing in the wild , contamination kills

Very good, Moogie! It certainly does make sense, and I am sure it will help others. I dearly hope that brat-bag Elfie appreciates the effort you have gone to and gobbles his greens! For you guys in that other part of the world the sunnier the better, and kitchen is good as you are there regularly and can keep an eye on them.
