It's odd that they're not offering the cage with the parrot. I guess the value the cage more than the bird and want to sell it. Poor parrot.

I hope so too. I'm nowhere near Slough and already have 9 budgies, so I'm out on all counts. Budgies are parrots

It's a green cheek conure. There are many different colour mutations, although not as many as budgies. Known to be nippy little beggars but can be cuddly. A bit Dr Jeckyl/Mr Hyde.

I wonder if it's nippy nature is why they are getting rid of him/her.
So weird not to include a cage. I don't get some people.

I thought it was against gumtree rules to advertise a pet ‘free to good home’ now. I know someone who had their ad removed because they were trying to find a home for a rabbit. Poor thing it looks a bit bedraggled and fed up.

I just tried to look but got message that said the ad was no longer available. Hopefully that means it found a good home.

I don't think I'd advertise an animal as free on one of those sites even if I didn't actually want any money for it. I feel like saying they're free means you might be more likely to get someone who won't care for them properly, if that makes sense.

Definitely not a good idea to give them away free as who knows what will happen to them - gerbils and hamsters for snake food and cats for dog fighting. There was a "breeder" advertising budgies in Cardiff that actually seemed to be collecting free budgies from ads and then selling them herself - same photos etc. She was also selling a large assortment of small budgie cages which she presumably got free with the budgies. I sent her message before I worked this out as I was interesting in a budgie she had for sale and became very wary as she seemed to know very little about budgies even though she claimed to breed them.
I do hope this poor parrot does find a good and loving home. Some people really don't care about their animals at all.

Poor thing it looks a bit bedraggled and fed up. The odd thing with Gumtree helenmat is that I had my ad removed when I put a wanted ad on for a companion for Squawk. Gumtree allowed people to give pets away free on there but not put a wanted ad on. Whilst I understand why as there are people out there that would want an animal for disingenuous reasons I would have thought giving a pet away to any random is just as bad, if not worse. I never got a response when I questioned this.
