Lol yeah Im gonna give the bird the name scooter.
You know that happy hardcore music band because the bird has yellow hair like the front man.....
I only came up with that now purely because of you asking and my last tab open on my browser had searched scooter because of a YouTube play list I had on at the weekend
What do you think?

He's gorgeous.
The only 'scooter' I know is from Sesame Street.

I do remember the band vaguely!
Your budgie is so cute, I forget how small they are as babies.

Just when I thought this was over I do need some more help. The male and female have started mating again and I found another egg in the nest box. How do I stop this I heard it was bad for the birds for them to continue mating and laying eggs?

I'd remove the nest box hitman.

I'd remove the nest box hitman. Will the egg still be viable to incubate manually? Will this the hen be ok with this?

Forgot about the egg. See what others say.

Unless you want another clutch, remove the egg as well. You may need to separate the pair for a while as well. If the hen wants to sit on an egg, give her a dummy egg, even a bead of a slightly larger size should work.

Okay..... So I just witnessed the male trying to mate with the chick, his chick at that and it's only like 2 months old if that. What can I do? Seperate them?

I interrupted the behavior and they seem to be back to normal now. The smaller bird does look alot like the mother so ill put it down to that. I'm also thinking the little one is a boy now too 🤣
