We are all fine and didn't have any flooding, thank goodness. This is the worst flooding the area has seen since 1979 and the water levels in the worst areas were 8cm higher than they were then. They been strengthening flood defences over the years and some houses the were flooded had flood gates at the front of the property but the water went over the top of them.
Engand is seeing the worst of the flooding today and there are lots of flood warnings in place there, so Storm Dennis still hasn't finished with us yet.
Flooding in the UK is getting more common and more serious and only set to get worse with climate change and rising sea levels.

So terrible that so much equipment was ruined. Even if insurance pays to replace it, filing claims and ordering new always takes time. I'm glad the pets were all OK. Flood waters need to come down now. Every where we are seeing climate change effects criswell. Here in Southern California we are seeing more really hot days in the summer, high in the 80's-mid 90'sF ((26C-35F).

It's really scary, isn't it? Especially the fires in Australia.
We're having much wetter summers, more overcast, but when the sun does come out we're getting record temperatures.
It was in the news the other day about record temperatures in Antarctica, 20.75C.
It has all gone so very wrong.

Humans were probably the worst animal to evolve. Though no one could easily foresee the consequences of the decisions that humans have made, people need to change more than they currently are. If we don’t change, we risk making ourselves extinct as well as so much else, then evolution will determine what comes after us.

As I thought the avian vet will be consulting from one of their other practices, not too far from where the vet hospital is. I spoke to that practice but they're not sure when he is going to be there yet but they have taken my details and will let me know. I'll feel better when I know there is a vet available again just in case Randolph Carter takes a turn for the worst or something.
