I am not experienced, but would guess hen judging by the white around the nostrils. How old is your bud? He or she is a little beauty.

What a beautiful little baby. I'm no expert by any means on gender but in my pic that cere looks pretty pink so I'd guess boy. Yes he is young. Well under 4 months anyway.

I also will let the experts tell you what gender your bird is. What a little cutie and pretty colors - no wonder you are in love!

Thanks everyone. I'll have to wait and see I guess. I love his/her colours and I think its definitely very young but very calm and loves to be talked to and sung to. I'm looking forward to creating a wonderful bond ❤

Not the best photo, but on that one I'd say boy.

Judging by that last photo, even though out of focus, I will now say hen. As said, rec pied cocks do not get the blue cere. This colouring is too washed out for a male, even if the bird wasn't rec pied.

We were hoping to teach him? to talk but hens apparently do not. Still enjoying bonding with her but thinking maybe we need to change the name now lol.

I've read that it's a myth that hen budgies do not talk although male budgies are said to be better talkers. There are female budgies that talk, and some male budgies that do not.
Just enjoy your beautiful baby and if she talks it's a bonus.
