I have a 13 year old male who has NEVER attempted to bite me. I believe because this past Christmas 3 children insisted on seeing the bird, sticking their fingers in the cage and carrying on with him, he was affected. I was pretty angry because I knew he wasn't use to what they were doing. He was overwhelmed. They didn't listen to me and the parent standing thought it was ok. Ever since, every time I go to feed him, he attempts to bite. I'm really annoyed about this. How can I fix this situation. Thanks.

All you can do is do nothing to upset him, and allow time for him to learn to trust again. Obviously you need to change food & water, clean cage etc, but do so as quickly as possible but with as little fuss as possible. Keep talking to him all the time, avoid the bites as much as possible, and be as gentle and patient with him as you can.

Agree with Hezz, he'll need to learn to trust you again.
Kindness and patience - and don't let those people near him again.

I know it can be really hard trying to reason with people who don't know. I hate it when people walk right up to a cage and just stand there and stare. So much worse if people are trying to poke through the bars of the cage.

Thank You all for your responses! Appreciated! My budgies have somehow taken to like biting me as if I'm some sort of toy..... I think when they associate your hand with food they can get into a habit of doing this. The biting doesn't bother me so I havnt deterred them from doing so. It just means that I can't let any one else pet them. Has your bird continued to be aggressive lately? Or has he come back round?
