Got scammed for a second time would you believe? I must be so gullible. Won't go into too many details but folks you really must be aware that there are some very skillful scammers out there and they contact you by phone. I would have sworn to anyone that I would NEVER put my bank details into my laptop when remotely controlled! However, I did, but fortunately they got away with nothing.
But once again the inconvenience of stopping bank account, having to have a new debit card having to have the lap-top cleaned. They even linked my mobile to my laptop and took it over remotely, and I had no control over anything.
It's all sorted and once again, I say I won't be caught ever again.

As you say Shirls, a lot of clever people out there. At least you didn't lose anything. You wont make the same mistake again. xxx

Phew. They’re getting much more sophisticated! At work we get sent test emails at times, see if we spot the fraud or open the email.
One thing I’d say in general, most of these ...... idiots, nearly always spell something wrong or type a really bad grammatical sentence.
I got caught before too, glad nothing was lost

Glad you didn't lose anything Shirls . Here's one to look out for, I received a scam email last week saying that my direct debit payment for my TV licence had been cancelled and my licence would expire that day unless I clicked on the link and updated my details, otherwise the debt collectors would pay me a visit! It looked very genuine apart from the fact that they mispselt the word licence, I don't pay for it by direct debit and it doesn't expire until July. Nice try Mr Scammer, you **@@##!!

Do you know what they did??? They transferred a reasonably large amount from my ISA account (I'm not that rich!) and transferred it into my current account, (they were giving me a refund for my poor broadband) and ACCIDENTALLY put thousands in front of the small refund, they then wanted me to pay it back!!! I went to terrible trouble to do so, not realising it was MY OWN MONEY, I was trying to 'pay back'.
I can only thank and recommend Barclays fraud team for realising what was happening. They are so 'on the ball' and put a stop to everything, despite me virtually demanding the payment to be made!!!
Every day I think of them and say to myself 'B******ds'

Oh, h*ll; this sounds so scary. We had an email come through yesterday, supposedly from OH's sister ... "this is the only one I could find for you ..." and a link to a UK web address.

Yes I've heard this too Colin, they have a 'suckers' list apparently, and unfortunately, I fell onto that list. But never again. I have incoming calls only on my landline, and 9 times out of 10 it is a scam or an international call, so now I will definitely not answer it at all, so won't be drawn in. I only give my mobile number out to people I want to hear from, and I now have a block list on my mobile which my daughter put on for any strange numbers that come up.
No worries re your typing either Colin, you know we understand, and it was really good anyway! Hope you are well.

I don't think you are gullible @shirls, I just think the scammers are getting very, very clever. They know exactly how to convince people they are genuine.
I am suspicious of everyone and everything. I have never been scammed *touch wood*. I did have an email from a good friend (or so I thought) asking me to pick up some gift cards for him, but when I checked the email address, it was similar but different. It turned out that many of his friends on his contacts list had received the same email. Luckily no-one fell for it.
It's a sad state of affairs when to disbelieve is the first port of call.

I do not answer phone calls from anyone unless they are on my phones contacts, either mobile or house. If anyone wants me then leave a message.

This is so scary and no you are not gullible ShirlsMy sister had a call from the following people claiming to be from EE (which is who she is with) and she didn;t answer the number and I checked it out online and found that it was marked as dangerous and the following comment: Called and said from EE, said they had offers for me turned out (not that I agreed to anything) they signed me up to a contract without my permission totaling £60 a month plus changed my internet plan! DO NOT TRUST! I hate this people with a passion
