Agree with everyone ladybird - hope you and your OH don't get it and that your granddaughter has no or very mild symptoms. Hoping the rest of her family don't get it. Congratulations to her on her birthday and wishing her many happy years ahead.

It is a worry isn’t it but hopefully everyone will remain healthy and you and your husband won’t develop it. A teenage birthday is a special one so I’m glad she had a lovely day. Hoping she doesn’t have too many symptoms and that everyone remains safe and well.

Had my booster today. Don’t feel great, but not bad. Hoping I feel nothing tomorrow. Had Pfizer, my first two were AZ. Anyone else had theirs?

I’m due mine next month as I think they’re waiting six months from the second aren’t they? Hubby had his in September and had a third Pfizer, and didn’t react to any of them. He’s had his flu jab too so he’s done. One small degree of less worrying, but I have a feeling this winter isn’t going to be easy for the NHS. Saw a sad story on the local news of a little baby born with hare lip and cleft palate and he has to wait over a year for the surgery due to waiting lists. Obviously his parents are concerned about his development and the longer he waits, the longer it’ll be for him to have speech therapy and so on and impact on his social life and eating development, bless him. It’s not as if it’s a single surgery, but many over the years as he grows. I really hope the NHS can continue to work through the backlog of cases and patients aren’t going to be put back even longer for necessary surgeries if another large Covid wave puts the same amount of pressure on the NHS. Wish they’d reintroduce mandatory face masks and some social distancing again now the numbers are creeping up and winter isn’t even here yet. Hope you feel better tomorrow ffiscool.

Yes, it’s 6 months after the last, give or take a few weeks. I’m ok now, thanks. Felt heavy but light headed for a while. Hopefully that’s it.
That’s awful, as is anyone waiting for something impacting their life.
I agree, we need mandatory face masks, numbers need to come down before winter sets in
I can’t understand why the government are holding back. It’s a mask, but could massively help

I won't be eligible for the booster until Dec/Jan. We are also being told to wait 6 months after the last shot. One of the doctors said on a news show that we may need annual booster shots.

So agree with everyone about making it compulsory to wear masks! So simple and so obvious!
My booster is due, is that something we have to facilitate ourselves? My surgery said I would have to wait to be invited, when I asked 'by whom' she said the 'Government'!!! My Dr surgery aren't doing boosters, just the flu vaccine.

You can go online and book via nhs site. I had mine done at a different surgery. That’s who text me.
It will show you’re eligible if it’s 6 months after 2nd jab

Don't know about other hospitals but we've had a lot of cancellations lately due to staff shortages on the wards. Can't operate if there's no one to care for the patient afterwards.

Yeah, staff shortages are going to have a knock-on effect too. Must be so frustrating all round. I think people forget that nursing staff can still get Covid themselves, even if they’ve had the jabs and the booster. There’s also so many colds, coughs and viruses going around and the NHS aren’t immune. This was the story I saw featured on the news. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-58995541

Yes, and most other illnesses have similar symptoms, so we keep having to go off to take PCRs and await the results. Our lists are also suffering a lack of anaesthetists. If it isn't one group of staff, it's another. Don't know about other hospitals but we've had a lot of cancellations lately due to staff shortages on the wards. There are many things suffering from labor shortages of all kinds including staffing at hospitals. A friend had an elderly uncle in the hospital dying. Because of the staff shortages only one family member could visit for one hour a day. My friend is a retired nurse so the family decided to bring him home on hospice care for his last days. She said he perked up a bit once home with his family. He passed on Sunday but the family was happy to be with him his final days.
We are also having supply shortages of all kinds due to lack of available people to unload ships and drive trucks to get things where needed. President Biden just ordered the Port of Los Angeles to operate 24/7. From my house I can see the line of ships waiting to be unloaded. Fortunately I live far enough away that I'm not bothered by the truck congestion going on at the port.

Awful, but glad he was at home.
It’s the same everywhere. It’ll take ages to remotely sort

Constant PCR tests must be driving you mad too, Ira. I’m glad your friend’s uncle passed at home with his family tweetiepiesmom. We’ve had the same issue with HGV drivers leading to stock levels being affected over here. We’ve been pretty lucky as we haven’t noticed it locally but there’s been all sorts of panic buying for Christmas according to the media.
