Usually petunias, as well as a lot of other flowers, droop when they need water. Put your finger in the soil to see if they are still too wet ffiscool, go down about an inch or so. I don't trust these moisture reader thingies, trust your finger instead!! Are there good drainage holes in the bottom of the pots, they could be sitting in water at the bottom, and be dry at the top telling you to keep watering!!?! They still do look very lovely!

thanks Shirlsthey do have holes but maybe clogged. will stick my finger in later i tested the reader on new soil in the bag and it said dry.. but yes, i will use my finger. trouble was that rain last week... i did add a little water last night with soluble miracle gro. thank you.. I am determined they will survive, spent too much so far. the only one that is not ok is - not sure what it is - it is hanging in there but may change it for more dianthus.. they are so pretty

I know they say water in evening or morning, but some are hating the heat, so I’ve just watered and hopefully that helps. It’s mainly the petunias
Just stuck my finger up the drainage hole and it was pretty dry.
I’ll use finger test going forward. Maybe as some pots so deep, I didn’t put the therm down far enough

The view from beneath a huge willow tree in a local park (I'm not quite a tree-hugger but there may well come a day when no-one's looking ...) A lily on my balcony

Thought I'd give a little update on where we live as no doubt it was a struggle with everyone this year to get plants! But we managed to get something out of the garden this year What I am particularly pleased about is Marley's plant (an astrantia) has just starting showing its flower buds! This is where Marley is resting: This is our GLORIOUS hibiscus that we pruned back just to two buds and it has flourished this year!
What is even nicer is the plant is just alive with insects of all kinds: The bees look like that before they start in the morning but end up looking like they have been dusted with icing sugar! These are so pollen full flowers, they struggle sometimes to get it all off their legs lol! This little guy was trying to hide behind the tomato's: And lastly I had to post this, well, just because Love him
