Good luck with fixing those legs, nadi75. Best results are gained if the chick is under 10 days old, but obviously sooner rather than later is best.

Thankyou Hezz chick was 7 days old yesterday so really hoping i have done it at the right time! Tape is still in place this morning which I'm happy with untill the sponge arrives tomorrow 😊

Are you giving him calcium supplements as well, nadi75? I was just re-reading the pinned thread and the original poster did suggest calcivet in the water as well.

Yes Hezz i saw that to on the post thankyou, i have put it in the water feeder does the hen pass that to the chicks or do i have to give that myself I'm presumed she does ?

I've also managed to move the sponge up higher today as re checked the pictures and i think i had it to low down. All good at the moment 😊

Must do, as the chick is too young to be drinking for itself. There is also the possibility that the hen is calcium depleted if the chick has hatched with soft bones, so both getting the added calcium has to help.

More advice please, the green baby budgie is coming up for 5wks old. Starting to pop his head out the nest box. My question is mum and dad are falling out alot over who can be in the box ! If any Who would you remove mum or dad ? 😊

Just an update. earlier today i removed the hen and put her back in the Aviary, the cock seemed to be chasing her around the cage causing her to be very aggressive ! when either of them went in the nest box the other would go in after it and cause alot of chaos! They both seem happy now and chick came fully out of the box for a while and went back in 😊

Update on my little splayed leg baby, all is good 😊 taken the pads off today and his little legs look perfect ! I will post some better pictures over next couple of days. He can perch on my finger 😃 thankyou so much for everyones advice on here.
