Thought I would pop in and see how everyone is in this current odd world we are all in. Hope everyone is well and keeping your distance. I am well, lots has happened since we last spoke. I haven't any budgies left now, sadly lost my last one just before Christmas. Still have my 3 parrots and now have 3 dogs. Only have one chicken left too. I have also gained another grandson on the 12th, who weighed in at 9lb 3oz, made my eyes water watching him emerge that's for sure. Had major building work done last summer, went to Sweden, had shingles, lost my dad, didn't get to see him before he went as I was too ill with the shingles. . Well that's my hectic life in a nutshell. How are you all doing?

Hello and welcome back SQ. Did say hello on another post of yours. Sorry to hear about your Dad, as well as all the problems you've had. Life is very hard sometimes and no sign of things getting any better soon unfortunately. Anyway, keep your chin up and pop in to chat now and then. I think we (on the forum) are keeping one another sane at the moment.

We're okay here, but it's been a bit manic for us lately too.
On 28th Feb we had to leave out flat and move somewhere else (we had very short notice, about an hour) because the pipes under the floor were leaking.
They said it'd take 2 weeks to a month to repair but they have not started work yet as far as we know.
It has stairs leading up to the flat and it a bit of a pain for me to navigate with my lung issues.
Then the coronavirus thing hit and I'm housebound anyway.
Eve and the budgies are doing okay, husband is okay but has really bad toothache and is having trouble finding a dentist to help.

It must have been so traumatic, what an upheaval. Who knows when it will be repaired now? What strange times we are all living in and to add that on top, it's no fun at all.

Hello from Pip and me, we still here. Life ok but my daughter thinks she has the virus and is type 1 diabetic with 2 children under 4 one just 6 months old. So far she is not too bad, the only way to confirm is a test costing £270. Fingers crossed it will not be too bad. What a busy time you've had, so sorry about your dad and you have been ill. Hope things get better soon.

hi starlingqueen, so sorry to hear about your dad and other issues. Life certainly is throwing a lot of curve balls of late. My brother thinks he has it, in awful cold form (which apparently it can be), my sister in law does have it, and is not feeling great still on day 8. I managed to get them paracetamol from my chemist, so will leave them on their doorstep. I have been at home since mid Novemeber following illness, then an op and now possibly in for another 12 weeks.. thank goodness I moved when I did, and had heating put in, plus Sky TV, is all I can say. hope things improve for everyone and hope your daughter is ok, suesbird

Sorry to hear about your dad starlingqueenI'm keeping well. I have what I think is a cold - just a runny nose and sneezing but no fever or cough and I feel fine - so pretty sure it's not 'it'. It seems silly to have a cold with all this going on. I'm staying in for 7 days just in case. I've gained a budgie so I now have 3, and I'm so glad I have them to keep me cheerful.

Thank you everyone. I lost my dad almost a year ago now and I still haven't cried. I feel like he was gone a long time before he died. There was nothing of his personality left, he was just a shell. At least now I can remember the good times and not have to worry about him suffering. i hope everyone who has this dreaded virus makes a speedy recovery. It must be very scary for them. I have been thinking of you Marianne Marlow, wondering how you are getting on. Must be a worrying time for you as it is for my sister who has COPD.

Hi and welcome back, SQ. I know what you mean re your Dad being gone a long time before he died. You may remember that I'm in a similar position with my mother. In a way it would/will be a relief to finally let go. Nice to have you pop back up again, though.

You end up wishing you loved one dead which makes you feel bad, it really messes with your head and is hard on your mental health. It's nice to be back amongst friends, feels comfortable and safe in a strange way. A little bit of normality in a mad world.

Hi - lovely to hear from you. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, that is very sad indeed.
You gave me some advice about my dog Alfie who was diagnosed as diabetic and with cushings: you gave me some helpful links. Thank you, you were right, everything has become second nature and part of our daily routine, we don't even blink at it now it's just our 'normal'. He's just celebrated his 2nd sugarversary of being diabetic this month and his bg number are great.

Was it easier with the human grade needles? After losing my boy I couldn't live without a dog so I got 3. It's chaos but wonderful chaos. Here they are. Ursa, the black one, Calli, the one with the ears, and Odin, the white one.
