From this picture can someone give me their best guess as to his age? You can see an iris starting to be visible and he still has head bars. I believe his first molt is beginning to start. It could be the lighting that made the iris so visible, but I’ve never seen it before like this. .

Yes he still has head bars and no iris. He is under 5 months, probably under 4. What you are thinking is iris is actually eyelids.

That’s what I was thinking just from what the breeder told me. I figured him about 3 months old. If you click on the photo and zoom in on his eye you’ll see what mean about the iris.

Ah yes, a very dark grey...lol. This will lighten over time to become white but in babies under 4 months it appears quite dark. If he gets excited (by you or by a toy) you can see his eyes pin and show the white. He is probably a bit young for that yet though.

You can see his iris starting to lighten, and this is enhanced by the photo. they will often appear more visible in a photo than they do in real light. If he hasn't had his first moult, he can't be any more than four months.
