this one. 1 mL in 1 L of water, once a day. I have to soak their feet in it and their beak + under the wings and with the rest i have to wet a sponge and put some on the cage too. I need to do that for ~10 days.

What concerns me is that the manufacturers' instructions say not to use on animals. That would worry me, even at half strength. Here is a link: romvac.ro/en/product/romparasect-5/

hmm maybe diluting it that much wouldn't cause harm to them? More than 1 vet recommended this method and the other patients didn't mention anything about their bird getting sick. On the contrary, they said they got better in 10 days, with the mites completely disappearing...

so far I think he's getting better? we try as much as we can to use some of her (toki) but she's still scared of me. she's struggling and biting a lot and it hurts me to see her like that. I'll add a photo of his feet to share with you. Although it's been only 2 days. Oh and also, before a lot of his feathers used to fall out from the excessive preening but now I have seen only the white fluff ( I don't know how it's called) and 1-2 colored feathers.

Wow! I do agree the feet do look a little better already! Onwards and upwards from now on hopefully. Well done.

His feet definitely look better, so well done. Moulting, the losing of feathers, is a normal seasonal thing and not necessarily from over preening. Usually a budgie will preen a lot during a moult, firstly to help get rid of any feathers that are about to drop, and secondly, once the new feathers start to come through preening helps loosen the keratin sheath that covers the new feathers and which can be terribly itchy. Very few budgie over-preen. Moulting can happen at any time, as well, not just twice a year. A lot depends on what temperature you keep your house at, and how dry or humid the air is inside.

ohh that would make sense. The maximum temperature in my room is 21C and minimum ~19C. I thought it was because of the mites since they were moulting 2 months ago too. Thanks a lot for the info!
