Hi, I have two budgies and both are showing signs of illness. One budgie keeps having droppings stick to the feathers around his vent (which we’re cleaning away with cotton and warm water) , has sort of yellow, almost crusty feathers around his head and chest . He was very lethargic but after clearing away droppings he recovered , but has now deteriorated. The other’s vent is kind of swollen and a bit bare but otherwise is fine , chirping and flying away! I’m really not sure what to do and might not be able to get to a vets unless absolutely necessary due to a mix of money, covid-19 causing issues and there aren’t many locally. Thanks in advance.

There is not much we can do for you either. Keep both birds warm and calm, make sure they are both still eating and drinking, drinking being particularly important. Some probiotics or electrolyte solution might help them both. The crusty feathers sounds to me as though this bird has been vomiting.
