starlingqueen have you looked into histamine intolerance or mast cell activation disorders? It is something not very well recognised by the medical profession. I was already going to mention it in relation to your tinnitus and allergies but when you mentioned ear pain and hypermobility which are all symptoms. I have all of those things too. I have allergy like symptoms without testing positive for allergies (except to gerbils and hamsters). My tinnitus is definitely worse when my allergy symptoms are worse and I've had awful ear/jaw pain which was first diagnosed as trigeminal neuralgia even though it didn't match any of the symptoms and then as salivary gland stones which also didn't fit. I've tried to get a diagnosis but it is difficult to do in the NHS. There are very few doctors who know about it. I did get my allergy consultant to acknowledge that a low histamine diet had helped me and he was supportive of me continuing to limit the histamine in my diet and even referred me to a dietitian (who had never heard of the problem) but he is of the opinion that there are no tests for it which I know is not true but didn't want to argue. I'm glad I didn't see the other consultant at the clinic who is certain the condition doesn't exist, and has been very unpleasant to a number of people. I've been following a low histamine diet since the end of 2015 and it has made a major difference to me. I got quite ill before that, after being prescribed antihistamines by the consultant, which improved my nasal symptoms but made everything else very much worse, and I could hardly get out of bed. I had a light bulb moment when I discovered histamine intolerance as it explained so many things. I've seen most of my symptoms improve although they are still triggered by things like fragrances and change in temperature. I've switched all my cleaning products and toiletries to fragrance free alternatives but it's hard to avoid fragrances when I'm out of the house. www.histaminintoleranz.ch/en/introduction.htmlwww.histamineintolerance.org.uk/Those websites are both very good and there are loads more. You are very welcome to PM me if you want to talk about it some more.
