I've seen quite a few posts of this kind on this website, but none of them really help my situation.
I got two budgies in December. One of them has been out of the cage multiple times, and the other only worked up the courage to come out today (he has anxiety and they're not fully finger trained yet).
He's apparently not a very good flier, and he crashed into multiple surfaces with his face, and even fell behind my dresser at one point. As I was putting him back in his cage, my sister and I noticed that he had a small bit of blood on the bottom of his cere. We showed it to our mom, who's had a bird before, and she said that he was probably fine. Nonetheless, I'm still a bit worried.
The first time my other budgie, Connor, flew out of the cage, he wasn't trained at all and was not supposed to come out. At one point we turned off the lights to try and catch Connor, and my other budgie, Aaron (yes, they're named after Broadway characters), freaked out and hit the side of the cage REALLY hard. Since then he's been climbing around the cage instead of flying, and I'm worried that he sustained a bad head injury from hitting the cage, which resulted in his almost disoriented flying today.
I was wondering if any of you have had a similar experience with your budgies? And if so, how did you handle it? I'm very new to birds, and I'm quite worried for Aaron. I tried to do research on why his cere would bleed like that, but none of the sites I saw had similar enough situations.
They're about seven months old, and they both have relatively long claws. They're a bonded pair, so I don't think they've been fighting.
