Hi there, one of my sons budgies (outside aviary) has a damaged or infected eye. Can anybody tell me if it is damaged or infected? Additionally, is there a ointment or eye drop that I can use the treat the eye if it is infected ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's a great photo - crystal clear. I just can't really make out what is going on. One bit looks like a piece of poop, the other a growth or infection of the inner eyelid. I would give the eye a wash with warm saline solution, or a human eye cleanser and then see what you are working with. If nothing flushes out, I really think you are going to have to have an avian vet take a look at it. The surrounds of the eye don't look infected, so I don't think a topical antibiotic is going to be of any help. Eyes can be fragile and easily damaged by those of us less than expert which is why I am loath to suggest anything more than a flush out.

thanks for the quick response. We have flushed it out with saline solution. I will monitor and if it doesn't get any better, will take to vet.
Best regards
