Pikablue has a weird lump under/on his wing, I have spoken to a fellow bird owner and they said it could be due to him flying into something. I thought I’d just check it out with other budgie owners too. He is acting normally and we only noticed it 2 days ago

In my limited experience that looks like a feather cyst to me. Usually not something to worry about depending on where it is of course and as long as its not hindering him in flight. It will do one of three things get bigger, burst or go down of its own accord. Worth keeping an eye on just to make sure it doesn't impede him in any way. No rhyme or reason why this happens to some birds, our birds have had them at some point too

You're welcome! But like I said just keep an eye on it as ideally you don't want it getting bigger as that's when the vet might need to be involved. It is usual tho that they happen on the wing area. I had a bird where it was on his preen gland which is not a great place to have one

It looks like a feather cyst to me although if it starts to get big quick I would have it looked at. If you are able to get close enough to feel it, if it is a feather cyst it will probably feel very oily and maybe have some yellow secretions. If it is dry I would probably say its more likely to be a growth of some kind, then it would need a vets opinion.

Agree, it looks like a feather cyst to me, but as Helen has said, it could be the beginnings of a tumour.
A feather cyst is not always "nothing to worry about", and often they will return if nothing is done about them. I would monitor it closely, watching its growth and to see if the bird starts to pick at it. You may need to consult with a vet if it becomes angry and inflamed or if the bird starts to worry it at all.

Update: It has grown a bit more since post, he hasn’t picked at it, nor is he impaired by it in any way. Is there anything we can do or worry about?

If it looks no different, just larger, leave it be for the time being. If you feel a vet is the right place to go, then do so. As mentioned before, if it becomes angry and inflamed, get it seen to.
