Hi guys I have had my budgie for 5 years and I have tried very hard over these years to get her to eat fruits/veg/any other healthy human foods. She never touches them, I have tried mixing it into her seed mix too and it doesn't work. Due to the coronavirus lockdown I'm unable to access the shop I buy the budgie mix from. The local shop which we do our grocery shopping in doesn't have budgie food. I thought something like this might happen so i ordered budgie mix to my uncles house before things got bad, but now my uncle is showing symptoms of the virus so I'm not allowed to go near his house to pick it up. I can't order things to my house as my sister has underlying medical conditions which would put her at high risk if she caught the virus and my mum is extremely paranoid. She considers any unnecessary delivery as additional risk and would gladly let the bird go if she thinks i might risk my sisters health for it. My dad bought some sunflower hearts for wild birds at the grocery shop but she isn't eating them (maybe because they're quite big, should i be crushing them? I heard budgies only eat the ends). She has tried nibbling on rice and corn flakes in the past so i mixed some of that into her seed mix I have around 6 days worth of seed mix left and I really don't know what to do if she doesn't eat the rice/corn flakes Please help!

You could phone your Uncle and arrange a time, he could put the seed outside his door and you could go pick it up, and you two never need meet.
The same goes for anything ordered online, leave instructions where you want the parcel left, and you go and collect it.

If you order anything, do like I do, wipe everything down with anti bacterial spray and then you can put it in the freezer. You can keep your bird food in the freezer and it will kill any thing off. You could double bag it outside in your own bags or put it in containers outside.
You could ask the delivery people to leave it in the garden or around the back, or perhaps a neighbour would accept the delivery.
Where do you live, perhaps someone on here could help?

I have been successfully getting supplies to my Dad. I go and do his shopping and leave it on his front doorstep, I then walk away down the drive and I phone him. He comes and gets it and then disinfects all the things in the bag and the bag and then washes his own hands. He has been paying me through bank transfer.
You surely could do this with the budgie seed. There is always a way if you take sensible precautions.
