Very interesting samwiseg, a lot of information went straight over my head, but to think that this amazing plant has a 'memory' for 30 seconds is incredible.

Just have to say - Venus Fly Traps and other carnivorous plants, are great if you have a small compost bin in side (for taking out to the compost pile later). They eat all the fruit flies that we get in our kitchen I have a Venus fly trap, a sundew/sticky trap, and two pitcher plants that all attract and eat any flies we get. It’s pretty wonderful. They need filtered water though and some special care, but nothing too major. They remind me of my budgies sometimes - they don’t like it to be under 50F, for example!
