Hello! I am new to this forum and I am on my cell phone so image links are attached below. The lighter blue/turquoise budgie I think is definitely a male, but the other is confusing to me. In bright sunlight it looks thoroughly pink, but in diffuse/white light or shaded/turned away from the sun it looks like it has white around the nostrils and powder blue mixed with pale pink - so a pale mottled purple with white rings. I am not certain about age, I just rescued them from Craigslist, but they were bought at the same time from a Petco about two months ago. The lighter one still has some of his head bars so I’m thinking he’s around 4-5 months? And the eye rings are still pretty dark on both, so the darker one must be still close to six months? Thanks for your time and assistance! ibb.co/qBsZf04ibb.co/d5hkp6kibb.co/qk9HD0fibb.co/Fz6Sjv5ibb.co/BBXmbwcibb.co/DRzy8Chibb.co/SnX4GJzibb.co/ngf3ZLsibb.co/qjJsgDyibb.co/2qT1QJvibb.co/y60JJ69

In this photo the budgie on the left looks like a female and the one on the right a male. Watch the rust on the bells as it's a hazard to budgies.

Thank you for the heads up on the rust! I just got them yesterday and their cage wasn’t horribly bad, but it was pretty dirty, and so full of toys the poor things couldn’t flap without hitting them - and no solid perches! Just swings and ropes and ladders, etc, and none horizontal. I didn’t even notice the rust amongst everything else. I’ll definitely remove them in the morning.
Are you pretty certain she’s a female? My gut is saying so too but I was really hoping to be wrong because have another female and I would love to house all three together for companionship but I don’t want them to fight.

I'll echo what Marianne Marlow says about the rust on the bells. I have that same swing and the bells got the same rust spots. My Tweetie Pie was kissing the bells so I took a pair of needle nose pliers and removed the bells. On one side I put a brass bell and on the other side I put a plastic "kitty" bell - what people here call Kevins. Very cute birdies - happy they'll have a good home with you.

Agree with Marianne Marlow re girl on the left, boy on the right. I have just commented on your other post that the bird on the right was male but couldn't determine the left bird.

Thank you all for your expertise and comments!
I will definitely be posting more questions to confirm in other topics about their ages and the best way to house them all together.
