Maybe if willowsmum is the same, she can figure a way to make it work. They do look like fun things for budgies to chew on and play with.

tweetiepiesmom The tennis shoes were my favourite part, but I'll put them on my keyring if they're a danger. I read in the reviews that the sole got ripped off by that was by an African Grey. tretinker I'll see how I get on with the platform and report back.

I have bought a similar bundle of toys for Willow in the past but a platform is one thing he doesn't have so unfortunately I've not had any experience of them at all, sorry It'll be good to hear what BertieB thinks of his new toys

blue48 the problem with the tennis shoes is the laces. Someone had a budgie who chewed on the laces and they got shredded and he got a toe stuck in them. I think if you keep an eye on the laces and if BertieB shreds them, you can remove the laces. They are really cute!Personally, I think we can go overboard on some things - I just keep an eye on things that might become a problem and then remove it when it starts looking iffy. Then there are other things that are on my "no" list like the swing that caused Buddy a problem. There are enough things wrong with that swing that I'd never buy that swing again. Unfortunately, it is a popular swing and I see it in many pictures that people post. Can't wait to hear how BertieB likes his new toys!

I'm glad you were there to rescue Buddy. So scary for both of you.

Not only getting caught being the problem but if they ingest any of the fibres it can cause all sorts of problems.
An older member had this with her bird and resulted in all sorts of issues, crop washes etc not a happy situation.

Sounds like maybe the thing to do blue48 is remove the laces but let him chew on the the little shoes.

They came today. A couple of them are identical to toys he already has, the little platform came without the wingnuts so I'm unable to fix that in. The chain with the shoes is much bigger than it looks in the pics. This is it compared to a normal teaspoon. I'm planning to fix it to the outside of the cage, so that the only time he'll be playing with it is when I'm around. If the laces start shredding I'll take them out and replace them with something else.
Lol, I dumped them in his toybox and he's already in there checking them out ..

blue48 sometimes when we order toys, we just need to wait until we have it in hand before deciding what to do with it. Sorry the platform isn't going to work out. He's such a character - already exploring his new toys.

That's a brilliant photo of him investigating his new toys. I'm sure he will have lots of fun with them.
