He's in good form this morning. He just flew from right-hand little door platform to left-hand little door platform, effectively leap-frogging over the open middle door. Not seen him do that before.
I have been thinking of possible night frights Perry might have had that were linked to this problem rather than a straight-forward night fright. The other week, I noticed his overnight poops were concentrated below a mid-level perch which suggested he had landed on the floor & climbed up & probably stayed at that level as it was below the cover. Maybe he'd had one of these funny turns then? Impossible to know, but it's likely that what I witnessed yesterday was not the first time it happened.

Poor Perry. That must have been such a nasty shock. Hope he's OK.

What an awful shock for you, so glad he's doing better now.

A budgie can have a seizure and (seemingly) fully recover. The biggest problem is that once a budgie has had a seizure, it is more likely to have another one, and each one is one harder to recover from. Really, really hoping that Perry's is a long way off, if it ever comes again, and if that is what it was. Sparky's were a few years in between and his active personality was his own best physio.

Yes, that is the problem - it is a clear indication that something is not right. Touch wood, I have not seen Perry have another incident. I hope his is like Sparky's, with long gaps in between.

Good to hear sweetpea that Perry hasn't had another incident. Hopefully he continues without another one.

It's happening again. Perry had another turn around 21:20, but since midnight has been twitching & at intervals falling off the perch, or being propelled off the perch by the spasm/twitch. I'll be staying up all night with him but feel pretty useless. At best the vet will see him tomorrow...but a whole night to get through first...
I have been contemplating putting him in the travel cage but the last time I did that he was really stressed. At the moment he is having the odd relatively calm moment in his own surroundings. Poor Lennie is sat on the swing wondering what is going on with his mate.

Poor little Perry. It sounds like a stressful night ahead for both of you. Hang in little guy.

We made it. I haven't pulled the cover up completely yet, but Perry appears ok. Lennie is still in bed (on the swing) but Perry is up & about. Stupid me went & dropped something on the hard floor so they are both spooked. As I typed that, the house martins just had a little fly outside the window, prompting some chirping. Lennie is now contemplating getting off the swing (bit of a faff) & Perry has started preening. Lennie has just landed on the floor which is not unusual due to his abysmal dismount. All okay. Still calling the vet though...

Thank you all. Vet is coming late this afternoon. All pretty normal this morning so far, apart from the little millet treat for breakfast.
