Hi there, I was reading in a Facebook group a little list of things advised to do when you bring a new bird home, aside from quarantine. Of those things was a prophylactic roundworm treatment, mite treatment, and having on hand antibiotics like baytril, and also use of apple cider vinegar. Even if there's no symptoms. Deworming and mite treatment makes sense since we do it in puppies along with vaccines and flea prevention meds...
I was wondering how wise this was, and if it was wise, how young can the budgies be? I have a new baby...he is approx 5 weeks now, but still hand fed. In addition to my 3 others who are aged 12 weeks to 2 years. What else do you recommend? Thank you.
