It could be a feather shaft that has not formed properly.

Is it hard, or can you squash it? He shouldn't have a feather forming on his foot, but strange things can happen. It almost looks like a claw growing in the wrong place. That shouldn't happen either.

My Eric has feathery feet, just above his ankle equivalent. No its not normal but it does happen sometimes. I agree though, that does look more claw like.

Not sure I have ever seen a yellow claw, but I have seen yellow feather shafts, it looks just like the ones that Billy-Bob had on his head, they never formed properly or opened, they had a weird yellow liquid in them.

So the consensus seems to be that weird things do form in weird places on our birds, but not necessarily something to worry about.

Hello! Your post reminded me of something on my Sky’s foot which I think is harmless and maybe similar? It’s like skin. Thought I’d take a photo to show you. Sorry for all the gross white bits in the photo, Sky was preening herself on me

That looks like a couple of her feet "scales" have grown oddly, presuming there is nothing actually in it, Becca??

No well... they’ve been there for quite some time now, I didn’t think to ask the vets but I assume they would’ve said something when examining her? (I wasn’t allowed into the actual vets when she was in because of corona). I don’t think there’s anything in them from what I can see x

Doesn't look to be anything to be worried about ... as we all get older we get odd lumps in odd places. I've certainly got my share! It looks to be a budgie version of a skin tag.

I've seen the sticking up feet scales before, (my Sky had some too) and that is just what they are.
