Hopefully someone that recognises the squeak can help. Trouble is when he's at the vets he doesn't do any of this and seems perfectly normal!
He had the full 14 days course for the aspers though.

Take the video with you to the vet's. That's the only suggestion I can make, besides isolating him and trying different scenerios with/without noisy budgies around etc.

Hi Marianne,
My budgie made the same squeaky noise. He would sometimes squeak, it sounded like he was uncomfortable or in pain, yet when eating he sounded fine. And he didn't always do it.
He had a chlamydial infection. My vet informed me that some birds with chlamydia don't show symptoms unless they are stressed by overcrowding, malnutrition, breeding or other diseases.
Could it be that? I agree with Hezz, take the videos to your vet.

Hi Nani
Thanks for responding. What happened with your budgie? - how long did he have the squeak for?
I will definitely take the videos with me to the vet when I go and also write out a detailed history for Blueboy for the year and a quarter that we have had him.

Hi Marianne,
My sweet Blueberry passed away at the vet clinic. It was my first budgie death in the flock family. How I cried.
I hadn't noticed it too much and when I did, the squeaking had become more frequent and pronounced. He had come from an aviary/backyard breeder situation and I didn't know anything regarding his history or anything. The lady was moving out of town and needed the aviary kept birds rehomed. My vet suspected the chlamydia has been there awhile and the recent move (into a new home) caused increased stress. (It didn't help either that the lady kept them on a seed only diet)!!! AARRRGG!!!
I hadn't had him long either-about 2-3 weeks? Give or take a few days. I hope your Blueboy gets better pronto!
Good luck and XOXO for your budgie!

I'm really sorry to hear about Blueberry. I am sure I'd seen pics of him and he looked just like Blue Boy. Blue Boy is also a very stressed little fellow. I am wondering whether the rehoming brought out something that laid dormant. Hadn't even thought it could be psittacosis though. I do hope not

Will you be taking him to the vet?
Yes, Blueberry looked llike your lovely Blue Boy. Aren't they just sweet hearts? Even if they bite sometimes lol.

Hi,
Not til the 28th as this is the first appointment with the Avian vet (He's a really good one that she uses) that we could get. My lovely friend arranged it and is taking us in her car.
Blueboy has already seen two previous vets and had several treatments, nothing has helped so far so I have high hopes for this one.

Hi Marianne,
I really hope everything works out. That's very generous of your friend to take you there and recommend a top-notch avian vet. Way-to-go-friend!
Best of luck. xoxo

She has been very kind to my fiends and I. I thought it better to wait for the really good vet than waste more money and time on a sooner appt with an inferior one.

Oh, Marianne, that is another ten days away. I do hope Blueboy stays good in the meantime. If you suspect psittacocis is the culprit, you should quarantine Blueboy I think. It seems it has the ability to exist outside a host for some months. Just a quick look took me here: www.multiscope.com/hotspot/psittacosis.htm

I actually do not think it's psittacosis. I think it's either iodine deficiency or a tumour.
We'll see what the vet thinks.
I do hope it's curable.

You have the iodine? I suppose you have started him on it. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do for budgie tumours.
I hope it is something curable too.

Yes. I think he would need an iodine injection though. I know. Thanks Hezz.
