I don't have any vets near me that will see birds and I'm desperate for some help. My bird is having a really hard moult so I did not really realize she was puffed up because she was sick. About a week ago I noticed she was having diarrhea. The next night her poop was really watery but the white part of the dropping was very mustard yellow. About 5 days ago she threw up some clear liquid. A day after that she threw up some seeds. I added some Apple cider vinegar to her drinking water. She did have what looked like undigested seed in her poop the next day. She is eating and drinking and her poops seems to be back to normal. She is still inactive and pretty much ignoring me. She does do this while she is moulting, which is what is so confusing. She is fluffed up sometimes and itches herself a lot. She is obese. I moved a month ago and found out the vets within 2 hours drive only see cats and dogs and there is no avian vets at all. I know it is hard to help over the internet but I'm worried.

Could you show us a photo of her, her current droppings and let us know what she eats.
Are you able to have a telephone consultation or video one with an avian vet? It sounds like she may need some kind of treatment.

Where do you live? If in the UK, someone might be able to recommend an avian vet that you could contact, even over the phone.

How do I add a picture? I live in Canada. She eats mostly seeds. Some boiled egg, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots. I've tried doing an online consultation with a few places but they can not prescribe medicine in my province. The vets in my province that see birds won't prescribe without seeing her. I did find one out of province that said she needed grit and an antibiotic shot. I don't give my budgie grit

From PC: In your "Reply" box you will find an "Add image to post" button on the left hand side. Click on it. A separate "postimage" window will open with the option "Choose images". Click on it. This should take you into your PC files. Choose the photos you want to upload, wait. Once all photos have loaded, hit your "Post reply" as you normally would.
From your phone: Scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will find a button to click on called "Desktop" or "Desktop Mode". You need to be in this mode to upload from your phone's photo library. Once you've done that hit the REPLY button on the right hand side. Then hit the "ADD IMAGE TO POST" button at the top left hand side. This will take you into your photo library. You can upload your pictures from there.
Hopefully that has removed any confusion regarding adding photos to your posts. There is no longer any need to go to a separate hosting site.

Are you able to provide her with some seeding grasses? I would limit the amount of time she gets to eat her seed and then only give her a small amount anyway. What is her seed mix, what is the % of fatty and oil seeds in the mix? So many budgie mixes consist of too high a level of oil seeds and oats. It should be no more than 5%. Think about moving her over to a finch seed mix; they are usually lower in these and don't contain oats. Normally I wouldn't suggest increasing her veg if she isn't well, and possibly you should cut them out until she returns to normal.
A little oystershell (soluble) grit is not going to hurt her, there must have been a reason the vet suggested it. I would continue with the ACV in her water on a daily basis as well. Does she get out to fly around at all?
