Hi all,
I'm looking at making some natural toys for our birds. We collected a dozen of so pine cones on our walk today along with some beautiful sticks for perches, Ash and Eucalyptus.
Anyhow my plan was to drizzle a little honey and dip in their seeds to make them a little bit more interesting but I'm doubting the safety of these now. Please can anyone advise if I am correct in think clean, dry pine cones are safe?
It maybe that they are safe but the honey/seed idea is no good and I may be better off just putting them in their cage?
Thank you for any help.

Pine cones are fine for them to chew on, but good luck getting them to. I wouldn't be adding anything sweet to their seeds; they definitely don't need the sugar. If you wanted to try that with something, try sticks of carrot, celery etc.
