So a few days ago, Blueberry discoverd the cuttlebone. She's really into chewing things (is this normal for a 1 and 1/2 year old femal?) She's been chewing at the natural perch for a while and now she that she's bored with that, she's moved on to something else, the cuttlebone. And now she's finished half of the cuttlebones not just 3 days. She's isn't nessiseraly eating it, just letting the pieces fall to the floor. Do I need to put in some branches for her to work on? Or should I just buy a budgie friendly chew toy? Should I take out the cuttlebone? I honestly don't know. Any advice will help lots! Thanks

Leave the cuttlebone and get her some chew toys.

I've never had a hen but I've read plenty of stories about them wreaking havoc with whatever they can chew! It's part of their natural nesting behaviour. So I would find her some toys she can get stuck into, but leave the cuttlebone as it is important as a source of calcium.
Others will have views as well.

Get more cuttlefish bone, more chew toys and some new branches preferably with the bark still on it. Perfectly normal for a mature hen.

Sorry, misleading info - do not take out the cuttlefish bone. Make sure you have plenty as you may find that she is grinding them into powder at the rate of one every day or so.
