After several long months of thinking that giving Corvo veggies is a lost cause, major progress has been made! Usually when I place veggies in his bowl, he gets mad and throws them onto the bottom of his cage to be promptly pooped upon. Chop, he hasn't gone near. He'll pick out the seeds and eat only those if they are included. But today I made a discovery! I was giving my beardie a dandelion green salad and kept back a few pieces to see if the new bird would want them. Corvo was super excited since his cage just got uncovered and was perched on the bars. So, just for kicks and giggles, I held out a piece of dandelion green. And this little monkey ate it up. He's never taken food from my hand--he'll fly onto a bowl of food if I'm holding it--and has never taken anything through the bars, either. Even if it's a long sprig of millet not close to my hand. So we made progress on two fronts--eating veggies and having him more comfortable with me! He still chucked another piece out of his bowl afterwards, though. Hopefully he'll figure out that it's the same stuff, because I can't be there to hand-feed him every piece.

That's it then! All I need is a vivarium My budgie will nibble a basil leaf and a lettuce leaf, that's about it. I'm going to grow some pea shoots for him.

Why not peg them to the side of his cage rather than put them into a bowl?

I was thinking about doing that, Hezz, but I just came back to see no veggies in his bowl or on the ground! Seems he's eaten them
