Sorry for asking so many questions today and thank you so much for your help but - My girl Snowy got frightened during flying and ended up hitting the window Other than being scared, nothing seemed wrong with her until she stepped up on my hand and her foot felt a little limp and I examined it - there’s no blood and I’m not sure what’s wrong with it. Yesterday was worse - she was shifting her weight on one leg and kept her “injured?” leg up. She was still flying, playing, eating and chirping like usual. Today seems better but I’m thinking I might have to visit a vet to see what’s up with her leg she grips perches with it and can still climb and walk around but I have this feeling it might be causing her pain or might be swollen, bruised or injured in some way (and I don’t think broken - she still uses it) What do you guys think? I’m definitely getting it checked tomorrow but I’d like to see what your thoughts are This picture is from yesterday these are from right now: P.S I’m so sorry for so many images but I wanted to get it from different angles

Honestly, I don't see anything to be concerned about. How long ago did this happen? She is still using the foot, taking weight onto the foot and leg and the toes are still curling around the perch. Budgie feet and toes do come in for some harsh treatment but generally any damage done, even if long term, doesn't usually impede their ability to carry on as usual. If Snowy has sprained or bruised her leg or foot it is going to take a few days, even a week or two before the injury is fully healed, the same as it would for you or me. As long as you are seeing improvement each day so that you know that she is healing, I'd leave her be but if it would ease your mind to get her examined then do so.

Hezz This happened 2 days ago. She seems to be fine, just today when I opened the door she stayed in the cage instead of flying like usual. I’m not super concerned about the sprain itself since I think it’ll heal soon and she still uses it, but just worried about the pain it may be causing her. Thank you for your help! I hope she gets better

If she seems to be suffering in any way, you can try adding some cayenne pepper powder to her drinking water. It is a natural pain suppressant (apparently) and perfectly safe for the birds to take. Just a couple of pinches into her water and give it a good stir. I have used the end of a teaspoon in the past, adding two to 100mls of water. It does settle out to a certain extent so give it a stir/mix whenever you walk past, if you want to go down that track.

I’ll try that out, thanks!
My other bird shares the same water cup — is it safe for him to also drink from it?

Yes, perfectly fine for both birds to drink the water.
