Hi, looking for a bit of help here recently I got a new bird Blue who is happily living with my year old bird Tommy. Tommy was never what you would call a chatty or noisy bird, I now have 2 budgies who will chirp and have a great time if I play them other birds chatting on you tube. Otherwise pretty quiet eat well, play with their toys love their mirror chirping away contentedly because their music is playing. What I am trying to find out is if I am doing right playing the music low in the background they love it. Has to be low as we share the same room am I doing wrong? Any thoughts thanks for reading.

Budgies love noise. If it's quiet they associate that with danger. Playing music low is fine, playing it a bit louder is fine too. I always leave the radio on if I go out.

The noisier the better as far as my birds are concerned! In the wild they live in huge flocks so are used to a clamour. As blue48 said if it is quiet they think there is a predator about.

If I don't have the TV on, I'm playing music or have talk radio on. Actually, my guys like either the TV or talk radio better than music. They go nuts when I vacuum the room, chirping their little heads off!

I have music on all day for mine. Now we have a 10 month old and 4 year old running about and swinging toys around he loves it.
