Budgie has found the living room mirror. He comes out, flies straight there and then just sits with himself. When back in the cage he goes mad jumping about till he is let out again. Should I cover the mirror? He clearly loves it poor thing. I covered the bottom with paper thinking this will sort it but he solved that quickly. Will post a picture!
Previous bird sat with the mirror occasionally but did lots of other stuff too.
I feel a bit sad for the little guy.

If that is all he is doing when he is out then definitely cover the whole of the mirror for the short term. You may need to cover it again at different times when he rediscovers his beautiful self, but quite often they will find something else in the meantime that grabs their attention.

Well thanks for all your advice. We have had the little guy for 2 weeks now and he is now a happy chatty head bobbing little ball of feathers. He is called Barney, although we might change that to Sqwarky Mac Sqwark face.
He has found various places to land. Heads are proving popular as they have interesting hair to chew. The boing has been installed and is frankly 'a little bit scary'. We have had a morning of very cross sqwarking at it, but I have no doubt he will come round.
My living room is looking a little forlorn - two ugly hooks in the wall where the mirror used to be and a missing picture that this morning he managed to fall down the back of! Of course he picked his moment. I was on a work phone call and had to abandon the conversation and dash over to extract him.
Hands inside the cage are still not liked but hands outside he he quite happy with.
Oh and he has even decided he does like millet after all. Quite a transformation in the last 7 days!

Sounds like he is settling in nicely.
