I've been reading the discussion on your budgies mutations Marianne Marlow with interest. I'm wondering if Tweetie Pie is skyblue? Is Buddy Cobalt blue? It was very difficult to get a picture of his wing/back because he kept wanting to play with my cell phone. Any opinion yellowfacedviolet, Hezz, anyone else?

Here's a pretty good side view of Buddy. Sometimes its hard to tell but his wing feathers are tipped in yellow not white. You can see Tweetie Pie whose wing feathers are tipped in white.

Yes, you're right about both: Tweetie Pie is a Sky Blue Normal and Buddy is a Cobalt Normal. Buddy also appears to be a Yellowface Type 1 which also explains the yellow wing tips. Though the yellow of type ones is usually restricted to the face and does not bleed much onto the body, it will occupy white wing tips turning them yellow. So that would make Buddy a Type 1 Yellowface Cobalt Normal.
"Normal" refers to the absence of any other mutation that alters the natural black head/neck barring and wing pattern--mutations such as cinnamon, opaline, pied, clearwing, dilute etc.
And both of them are lookin' good!

Yes, Tweetie Pie is Skyblue and Buddy is a cobalt, as YFV has said. Just like my Lucy, and Bertie

Thanks Marianne Marlow. Yes, Buddy's coloring does look like your Lucy and Bertie's - very regal pose there!

Another cute picture - I think you can see Buddy's yellow tipped wing feathers better.
