I don't know much about these sort of things, but my boyfriend made a really lovely DIY outside the cage perch and maybe you guys could do something similar. He took two pieces of sisal (I hope I remembered that right?) rope, and tied each end to a perch. You could use anything from a just a wood dowel to a piece of natural branch of your choosing. Then he nailed the other ends of the rope into the ceiling. I have to admit it looks a bit strange, but it is plenty sturdy enough for them and we're just using it until we have a proper outside the cage perch. I've found some affordable table-top perches on Amazon, but whenever I look further into them they always require the use of some kind of glue to put it together which I do not like. The really excellent ones that I've seen are all rather expensive so we will have to wait.. I'm hoping my boyfriend will have the time eventually to make them one himself, he's really good at that kind of thing. Anyway, he's the one who put the 'swing from the ceiling' perch together and I thought it was a pretty good idea and the birds do like to land there sometimes.

My budgies love fresh tree branches to perch on and to chew on. I look online for what type of branches from trees and shrubs are safe for budgies, there are many! Also people need thier trees and shrubs pruned. They like to have suckers that grow out from the base removed, also inward growing branches that criscross need pruning, and they make great perches and play gym pieces for budgies. My budgie Pedro has a peach tree branch in his cage. His playgyms are a mix of mostly thick vertical dowels from the hardware store, criss crossed with a few horizontal dowels and ladders, but mostly a maze (sometimes a jungle) of tree and shrub branches. I wash and scrub them first.

Nice idea!
I'm limited for space at the moment.
Hoping to make a multi-tier swing to hang from the attic door, but currently even the top of the wardrobe is out of favour. It seems to be the top of the cage or the top of the desk, which is a shame because they're very close together.
