Who knew a strip of leather could be such fun?

The funniest things they amuse themselves with! I spend all this time selecting toys that I think will be fun for them and then they enjoy the string on the toy more that the bits on it!

He really is, jellybean! I know, tweetiepiesmom! He kept chewing the plastic string so I got some leather but cutting it thinner to string the beads on was painful! I hope he's grateful! Yuki's so inquisitive. I put something new in and he'll go investigate it within about 5 minutes. Having said that, Indie has now joined in with broccoli preening, has chewed at the end of a perch, and had an experimental nibble at the leather cord holding a bead to the bars. He even reached out towards the chewy stars at one point. I'm so pleased to see him starting to branch out more.

Hoping Indie is feeling a little more adventurous and feeling more at home to be exploring things at will. That must be good to see.

It is. He's still not comfortable outside but at least he's getting more daring inside. Fingers crossed it continues. He is now so excited by the sight of breakfast seeds on my hand that he'll fly onto it before I've even gotten into the cage, so that's interesting.

@sillycat84 doesn't it feel so good when they start responding to you? Good boy Indie!

It does! He was flying around inside the cage and landed on my arm. And jumped onto my offered palm when I wanted him to come out!

And today marks the first time that Yuki has flown to my hand for breakfast rather than me scooping him off the perch with my thumb.

I missed Yuki's first ever bath as I was at induction, but I managed to catch the end of his second.

All the birds I've seen with this type of bath seem to love it, I'm sorely tempted to get one.

Peri used to love any form of water I gave him, whereas Munchy loathed nearly any form of water, particularly if it fell on him but would never rub on wet leaves or bathe in a dish of water, it had to be running... I think the sight and sound of running water might help attract them to it, jellybean, as is the whole point of the cat fountain getting cats to drink more. Indie hasn't tried it yet. Then again, Indie spends all his time outside the cage, or most of it, perched with his feathers slicked and his wings partially raised as if he might have to fly away from danger at any moment.

It's not that they won't take a bath @sillycat84, they both love water, especially Sam.
But the birdies seem to have so much fun darting in and out of the fountain 😂

Ah, yes, I see what you mean! I feel like I'd recommend a bigger one than this if possible. Peri used to really get his wings out in the dish but in this it was a little harder.
