Mangos beak is a little bit black, the tyke ate through a light cable and bang lights out and 1 life less for her. What a shame. I didn't think they would eat through those cables. I'll need to check mine. I was thinking of wrapping or getting a cable tidy for some of my cables the other day so they didn't damage them.

I thought she was OK from the picture. A lucky miss I would say. Keep her away from those cables 👍

Oh dear - I hope she's learned a lesson. Did she get a great fright when it happened?

No fright at all just seemed to take it in her stride, went quiet for a couple of minutes and looked as if to say it wasn't me, one lucky little bud.

I mentioned to another member about making sure the birds couldn't get to electrical chords if out and about in a room without supervision. I've not seen anything like that though; Mango certainly is one lucky little lady!!

Oh my gosh. Mango is such a lucky birdy to survive this.
Hens can be suicidally mischievous in their nibbling soirees.

Woah! Her beak looks like a fried electrical cord itself! What a lucky little bird she’s okay!
Hmmm, I always keep an eye on the diffuser I use as a sort of weak humidifier (filtered water only) and only leave it on unattended at night when they’re asleep. Could that happen early in the morning if the diffuser is switched off but still plugged in though? I was also thinking of getting one of those cat drinking water fountains for them to play and bathe in and to maybe leave it on in general (because it has a filter too) as their drinking water if they really liked it. Having second thoughts now unless I can figure out how to keep the cord away from little beaks! Probably just need to buy a cable protector too...
Thanks for sharing! I wonder if that first post could be copied to the stickied budgie safety thread under electrical wires just to emphasize the point!
