It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you my beautiful Murph has gone over to the fields of millet. He was 9 nearly 10 years old and lately he has been having a bit of a struggle with life. He has injured himself recently (which some of you know of) and has been not been able to perch. I had already cushioned the floor of the cage with thick fleece lining underneath the newspaper on the bottom of the cage as he lost one set of primary feathers in his later years. So he has never been a great flyer but has always been able to get around and love life. Well I had to make that dreaded decision because I believe he was now starting to suffer. It was only a matter of time before he had another fall that would injur himself and I was not going to put him through all of that before I had him PTS. But I fondly remember the first time I saw him in the aviary. He was just one of those birds that stood out from the rest. I saw him and often reminded him of how he just spoke to me as he was so beautiful. My gentle giant. My noisemaker You will always be my Big Boy Murph, mummy loves you. RIP silly sausage Please forgive me if I am not about for a couple of days x

I’m so so sorry. It’s very sad. Murph had a great life with you and it must have been so hard to do that, but he’s struggling no more.
RIP Murph, you will be very missed.
