Yuki loves pulling shredded paper out of this toy but isn't overly interested in carrot, and so... He promptly started pulling it out and dropping it everywhere. Hopefully he'll get a taste for it in the process.

Did you buy the toy with the paper in @sillycat84, or did you put it in yourself.
Great idea with the carrot π

Heehee. Brodie finely dices carrot (worthy of a chef) & flings it everywhere but Iβm not convinced much of it actually goes in! π π₯

starrymist Oh Brodie! You little chef! At least he's having fun? Same here, it's everywhere! I think he just likes chucking it around! He now has an orange face, and orange feathers around his preen gland where he's rubbed his face!!!

I know what you mean! This was him a few months ago, it took several days & a bath for the tango look to fade! π At least theyβre having fun!

Beautiful boy! Part of me thinks Yuki just likes making mess. He can't seem to not get into his seed bowl for eating, no matter which bowl. One of the plus sides to the cat dish rather than the small bowls is that at least he doesn't scratch like a chicken and send the seeds everywhere. But if you put it on a desk or something he'll take off out of it and there will be seed everywhere! The other week he stood in the bowl of egg, sweetcorn and carrot...

My first thought on seeing this, without reading your post, @sillycat84, was "he's going to have fun making a mess with that!" In all fairness though, I can't grate carrot without making a mess, so the boys are definitely let off the hook ... why should they not share in the "fun"? And Indie has removed himself from any part in the proceedings - far too dignified for such shenanigans. I hadn't noticed that until I expanded the photo.

Hezz Neither can I! Somehow what he removed all stayed in the cage though. Indie standing off to one side is pretty much the constant. Poor boy. The few occasions he takes an interest in something Yuki tends to remove him because his interest then gets piqued. I ended up removing Yuki briefly this morning, although it meant catching him, because they ate breakfast and he immediately entered pester Indie mode. So we left him running around on the cage whilst we popped across the road.

I love this idea. I might have to give it a try. Bizarrely Barney throws coarsely grated carrot about, but devours the finely grated stuff. As far as he is concerned they are different vegetables.
I gave him a selection of veg in a dish yesterday. He tucked in but came to a half moon of cucumber, picked it up and threw it onto the floor. I picked it up and popped it back only for him instantly to chuck it out again. Clearly the chef had prepared it wrong!

... and at this stage my side of the conversation would be "but you like (whatever) ... and his response would be "that was yesterday".

He has some brilliant expressions of disgust and disappointment, blue48! He could have been the head of my boarding school, then! I think it was a prerequisite for the position - how many ways can you show distain without uttering a word??
