Hey there. I have four budgies, a 5 year old, a 3 year old and two 1 year olds. Recently they’ve all started to sneeze more frequently than usual however one of them in particular, my oldest, has been sneezing a lot at night. He puffs his chest out, makes a high pitch sneezing noise , bobs his tail and then rubs his head against the perch for a while. I can hear what sounds like a gurgley breathing, however I can’t see any nasal fluid and his temperature is normal. I know I’m unable to take him to the vet, as he’s become so anxious as he got older that even loud noises stress him out, he would die if he was taken to a vet. Can anyone help with a diagnosis? or treatment?
Thanks

The fact that all seem to be sneezing more is of concern. Has anything changed? Environment, seed, new furniture etc? Is their seed clean or dusty? The oldest's symptoms seem in line with a respiratory infection which you would need a vet's diagnosis and treatment for.
You can try putting him into a steaming bathroom with the hot water running in the shower, all doors and windows closed. The heat and humidity can help open up the airways. It might make breathing more comfortable for him.

Last night he was sneezing very quickly, 5 or so times in a row then stopped, waiting a few seconds and did it again. This hasn’t happened before, what are the causes of a respiratory infection?
