No wonder, why so many people have sticked to this forum since ages!
It takes a lot of effort to moderate and keep things respectful. I just want to appreciate the administrators, staff members and all forum members. There's lovely and informative content all over..
Everyone's so respectful and polite. No one ever screams, scolds another over anything being done in the wrong way. Even though written communication is often considered difficult, since it doesn't include the vocal tones, I didn't see that as a problem ever here. Multicultural diversity is celebrated so well.. it seems like a different world to me. Everyone's so considerate about everyone else's situation, opinions and availability of items. I find people always ready to help and take out time for that, which is so difficult in today's racing world.
Adding to it, people love reading here (a long lost habit!), which is adorable.
I am not a social media kind of person, just whatsapp is what I like to stay connected with my small bunch of people. Sometimes Instagram. The thing with social media is the bunch of love and hate associated with it, that sometimes makes me wonder if I'm the odd one out, trying to stay away from it. Being connected to this forum never made me feel like that, which is extremely odd for me, as well as delightful.
I believe we take out time to complain, raise concerns and ask questions. But everyone needs appreciation, love and motivation to keep doing what they are doing. That's what my heart felt like doing today.. Love this space & glad that I found it! 😍🤗🧡💚

Mona, I couldn’t agree more. This is my "go to" forum for help if I have questions about my little bud, also I love to read about other buds and see their photos. I really appreciate the help from others and it feels like a big family here.. So a BIG thank you from me to all the hard work that’s goes into the forum it’s SO appreciated ❤️

mona, your thanks are very much appreciated, not only by myself, but everyone who helps keep this forum working, and that includes the forum members - without members contributing there is no forum. I read a number or other bird/budgie forums, not necessarily contributing because some are so rigid in their thinking, but it does give an idea on what else is out there. I'm not a social media person either, because of exactly what you mention - too easy for anyone to give a opinion usually about something they know nothing about. FB quite bores me to death, except for a small group of family I don't bother any more, so you are not the only one being the odd one out.

monaThank you, that is really lovely feedback. We are very grateful for Hezz and samwiseg as they do a lot to answer members queries, move posts about, edit posts where necessary, create a calendar etc etc I try to be here as much as I can, but even when I am not posting I still try and check every new member to make sure that they are not a spammer and also delete any spam posts. Need to make an effort to post more often, but I have a toddler that takes a lot of time and energy and also my mental and physical health can make things a challenge! I'm pleased that you think our forum is a great place to be - as Hezz says, without the members there would be no forum!

When it comes down to it, we're all here to help our budgies (that is the number one aim of the forum)and I hope that we put egos to one side to do that.
I don't always agree with what people are saying, but that is okay, we're all different people - a lot of the time from different places far away from eachother.

Well said, I class these people as my friends and often refer to them as my budgie friends. They understand and care. Thanks. xxxxx It does help if you are a bit mad at times and someone to laugh with.

Thanks so much for posting this mona! I love reading the information here and get such useful advice. I only read one other general parrot forum. While its interesting when I'm concerned about my budgies, the only advice I get is to take them to the vet. Here, I can get advice to try some things first and then if my budgies doesn't respond, I can take him to the vet. I'm also loving the non-budgie information - books to reading, cooking, crafts...

I wouldn't be without everyone here! Its a place I can laugh, ask friends advice, share and have comfort from people who understand and have been there. Couldn't think of a better place to be a part of

Totally agree with Mona's post.
I think there are times I would have torn my hair out with worry, often for nothing, but have received great advice and reassurance here.
As a budgie newbie of a *cough* certain age, living alone and not going out much at the moment because of Covid, I spend a lot of time 'budgie watching', and notice things that I probably wouldn't if I were living my life normally. Then of course I worry.
I'm so glad to have stumbled across this forum when I was googling yet another perceived problem.

Well said mona , I couldn't agree more. I don't know where I'd be without the help and support of all of you I feel lucky to count you as my friends. You are all well known in the Willow household. I save all the lovely pics to show my family, educate them with new found budgie facts and update them on Bertie B's poorly toe etc. The only thing is that in my mind you all look like your avatars and while Marianne is definitely human everyone else looks like a budgie I really hope you get to visit Sir Bailey soon ffiscool, you must miss him terribly

Lol. Yes we’re really all budgies.
I do. I would have gone maybe end last year but I was ill. Then was going spring, but obv couldn’t. He’s remembered me on my previous visits. Not sure now after this gap
