Does your budgie do "the dance" and what does it mean? Once Tweetie Pie settled in, he started doing the budgie dance - running back and forth fast on his perch. He'd do it maybe 3-4 times throughout the afternoon. Once I introduced Buddy to him, I didn't see him doing it again. The dynamics between the two guys are still shifting and changing. I noticed Buddy doing the dance now in the morning. He'll do it for a bit and then get distracted with something else. Is he just letting out pent up energy? Is it something to be ignored or do I need to change up something?

Yes, BertieB does that, and also has 'mad moments' where he runs around squawking and throwing his toys off the cage.
He seems to have a huge burst of energy about 10 minutes before his bedtime. It's almost like he knows 🤔

I only see mine doing the dance when they're going back and forward bashing breaks 😂

Its really funny to watch my two guys in the morning. Buddy wakes up as a ball of energy, chirping, jumping around and wanting to play. Tweetie Pie wakes, comes down to a perch and sits there quietly waking up. About mid morning he comes alive. In the meantime, Buddy wants to play and runs over to beak him and bobs his head at him. Tweetie Pie will snap at him and Buddy runs off to play but keeps coming back. I think Tweetie Pie must have nipped at him because in the past couple of days when Tweetie Pie snaps at him, he jumps down to a lower perch to play. He looks up at Tweetie Pie as if to say "are you ready to play?"

We call it the "River Dance" , all they need is a little pair of tap shoes

Cookie Breezie do that all the time... On the perch, on the curtain rod.. breezie runs on the cage top, as if he needs to prepare for a marathon run.. 😅
I find both of them doing the same dance, when they are singing together.. Cookie loves running towards Breezie.. She brushes off breezie from the ceiling fan.. Once, he flies & lands on another blade, she makes sure to run all the way to him.. not sure, if that's an area domination or their game! Anyways, Love that feet music or the tap dance 😄
They also fly at super speed, when they are used to the location of "perches".. they fly, run to and fro and then again fly.. this keeps going on.. 😍
Breezie screams when it's time to sleep. Sometimes, he keeps singing till the sunset and then squeaks.. Towards evening, his singing volume and speed increases dramatically, as if he has a deadline to sing 50 songs in 50 minutes.. 😆

Anakin & Trevor do this on top of a radiator beind their cage. It's turned off & I've covered it by draping a tablecloth over it. It sounds like heavy raindrops falling as they pitter-patter up and down in fast mo', doing the twitchy wing flipping. It's great if they're both going in the same direction but there's been a few collisions with loud chirpings of warning.

Mine either do that when they want to come out of the cage, or they are running back and forth enthusiastically trying to impress a friend - usually beaking them.

Sparky was the worst. So eager to come out but too well-mannered to push past without the daily ritual, he would run on the spot waiting for his turn to be greeted and allowed out. I had to mix it up a bit so that he wasn't the first out every time.

Kevin and Stuart do it round the top of my lampshade. They click beaks, then shuffle round the shade in opposite directions, click beaks when they get back round to each other, then shuffle back round and do the same over and over. They do this for a few minutes and it's so funny to watch.
