Hezz Yeah, half a year vs 8 years with my grandparents. I'd like to take him for a visit once he's more settled to see what he thinks about their place now. I will pass on all your well wishes to him, everyone. Somehow I feel that if he doesn't take to Indie and Yuki then it'll still feel less obvious that he wants to do his own thing when there's only 3 of them compared to him being the odd one out of the flock. Heck, he can sleep in a separate cage if he wants to. I don't mind. He knows his own mind well enough. I'm at work today, got a day shift every other day until Wednesday, which is a pain. But I'll be spending a lot of tomorrow with him, then darting upstairs to do stuff with the other two as well.

A twisty turny tale. I'm glad Munchy is back with you, it's awful to think of him being unhappy. I really hope in time he forms a strong bond with Yukie and Indie. I'm sure he will

Me too! Missed him so much! Would have enjoyed having Peri back too but it seemed a shame to take him away from an environment he was enjoying.
My housemate heard him contact calling today so went downstairs and read to him for a bit and fed him a bobble of millet.

He has ventured out of the cage for the first time today and peered out of the window. My head was landed on a few times. Currently he seems less playful than he used to, but we shall see. He is also moulting and would become far quieter during those.

He’s still finding his feet. He obviously remembers you and trusts you

He's probably waiting to find out if he's going to be sent back. I'm sure once he realises he's there to stay that he'll relax a bit

One of the new playgyms arrived today, which is handy as this room has surfaces but no perching areas, and he let me put him onto it, so I guess he trusts me enough to know I won't put him on anything dangerous. He's a snoozy boy now. Time for an early night in a little bit, I think.
The other two were falling asleep above their cage too and let me taxi them home on my finger. Deciding how to split myself between the three of them is probably the trickiest part.

Remember he is not a youngster any more. He may be starting to slow down anyway, although some new blood might get him active again. My middle aged boys have never been great players, plus I think single budgies are more inclined to than multiples - no interaction with their own kind going on is my thought.

I know, I can't believe he's nearly 9. I guess mainly what I meant was I'm trying to get a feel for how he's changed, and maybe get some idea of whether it's age, not yet being settled in, because he's had less access to toys or because he's been with a flock. It doesn't matter, as long as he's happy, I'm just trying to figure out where we're at so I know what's normal for him now.

Watching the cars go by this morning and rubbing his itchy head on the perches.

Thus far, Marianne Marlow, I've seen one Kevin on the floor, and he was occasionally kicking at a wobbly toy so that it fell off the windowsill. He also lured my OH in with a "kiss, kiss" and then chomped his nose!
