What a shame. I might get it from my bird toy vendor. The vendor I got the bird toys from, is very responsive and seeks continual inputs on what the birds like and what we prefer as bird owners. While the vendor was seeking inputs about some new toy designs and natural cage perches (just enjoy giving feedback), I just asked if they knew about any millet spray vendor. They had been thinking about it and have locally grown millet sprays in their area the eastern state of India. Though they said the harvest time is over, they will still get back to me next week. I asked them to let me know whenever it is harvested again. I trust this vendor due to their transparency and intent for bird safety and have been helping with more inputs and ideas about bird toys and perches. Just when you help someone without any expectations, they help you back! I told them to start a millet spray business too, since it's not available in India easily and people would rush to get it. They have their own farms for bird toys and are in touch with other farmers. I'm so elated! Yayyy!!!! I'm sure they will sell it at a affordable price. Their toys are very affordable, natural and bird safe too. It will support a local business too and generate more income for them! Till then, I will use the millet spray I have judiciously and look into other millet treats using binding bird safe agents.

That sounds like a win for everyone. Selling millets as well as toys, they will simply be adding to their client base.

I'm skeptical about changing the seed mix for my birdies.. based on what everyone else has been facing and with sneezing issue with my birdies.
So, I called up my old seed vendor and requested him to courier the seedmix to me and my mom both. Told him that I'll bear the courier and any other charges. He agreed happily! I'm so relieved and happy!!! We had been planning on getting some packets when we visit hometown in Feb. But the parcel thing would ensure us getting it anytime!!!
I will continue with the same seed mix, since it has been working for them & I don't want to disturb the current scene. Will just reduce the quantity to 25 percent and rest of it with fresh food, grass and sprouts (when I'm very sure of disinfection and rinsing).

I know I have been confused about changing the seed mix. The seed mix doesn't have any ingredient list and I'm not sure what they are eating. As per recommendation by Hezz, I got mixed millets and the canary seeds... They have got used to the millet seeds and finish everything except finger / red millet.. pearl millet is occasional and only during winter.. they aren't interested in sorghum.. Since this is meant for human consumption, it's really clean and without any dust, organic.. that feels good! Not yet used to canary seeds - also didn't give that to them more than two times, since it had maggots.. even though it's all clean now.. I did use that to grow canary seed grass and it went pretty well. I might use it to grow grass and find another one with better packaging and quality. I have reduced their earlier seed mix to 20 percent.. I have been very slow with it (almost a month) to avoid frustration from their end..and it seems they aren't missing their old seed mix too much.. I'll use the rest of the old seed mix to grow grass, when I stop giving it to them.. I have also stopped searching for millet sprays, owing to quality concerns. I'll make some seed treats with human grade seeds instead which can also include some other good seeds these birdies don't eat..

Iām surprised they are taking their time to adjust to the canary seed, seeing as it is such a budgie seed mix staple.
