Hi everyone, may I have help with this wee spangle youngster's gender please? When it is old enough, this wee cutie is going to a young lady school teacher to be their new beloved class pet. (The kids are very upset as their old budgie passed away during the school holidays.) I promised I would try to get the sex confirmed so she can make a lovely project of getting the kids to choose a name, so it would really help to know if they need to choose boy or girl names ;D I thought definitely female, as it has been quite white around the nares, but got these pics today in good natural daylight & the white rings seem to be fading & the colour changing Help please!

You can see the white rings round the nares so yes I go for female too.

Hey, I saw this and I thought I'd cash in on all the gender-identifying action.... Anyways, we agreed to budgie sit for a friend. We have a boy (definitely a boy, with a lovely deep blue cere), the budgie newcomer (who was a bit of a bully, tbh), I noticed, had a much paler cere - we have been told he's a boy but I'm not too sure...I managed to get a photo of him/her, any chance anybody could shed some light? Thanks www.fileden.com/files/2012/1/28/3256309/DSC_0025.JPG

Both lovely girls! The frosty matte looking cere gives the first away, the other has white nostrils and a pale off pastel cere base,

Ah, yes I thought so! Considering she was a bossy boots, and much leas vocal than ours. She's since gone home, but now we need to decide whether or not to break the news to her owner (my partner thinks we should carry it to our graves....)
