I'm extremely sad to say we lost out little man Casper this morning. He declined in health over the last week and we just couldn't put him through the stress of treatment so made the very difficult decision to have him pts. Its the hardest choice I've ever made about a bird. His life was so very short and should have been so much more full of fun. He was such a sweet sweet boy. We will miss you little man.
Fly high little one. Silver will be very excited to play with you. I'm so sorry your time with us couldn't have been so very different.

My heart just cries out for you. We have such hope for these little birds to be part of our lives and flock and then something happens and its all lost. Little Casper had a good mom and you tried your best for him. Fly high little one!

Superior Sky Blue
samwiseg He started vomitting much more frequently, poos very loose, not eating much at all some days and just generally being very tired and quiet.
Had a very long phone call with the vet about what it might be and what we could try. Discussed all sorts of possibilities. Vet was concerned that he was so young, and to be susceptible to AGY and a bacterial infection could suggest a weak immune system and that something else going on as well. We could have tried the AGY treatment but the vet said that long term we'd likely be looking at multiple treatments if that was the cause. It just seemed so much to put him through when he was so scared of hands and we'd not had a positive AGY confirmation. If he was older, tamer, already in a flock we may well have chosen differently.
I so understand blueelephant, AGY is particularly nasty. Am sorry it came to this and sorry for your loss take comfort in knowing you had a vet giving you good advice and you did the right thing for him no matter how hard that decision was
