I've posted here months ago about the mutations of old budgies I used to have. I stumbled across some even older photos of my bird, Spirit. Some photos were much more than a decade ago back when I lacked a decent camera at the time. I guess the reason why I'm intent on figuring out the mutations of the budgies I used to have is that I want to make a proper memorial for my old companion birds that passed away with all of their information.
There was the conclusion with Spirit being a SF violet sky greywing (although I know violet is notorious for being hard to identify in photos). I found the older photo of Spirit standing next to Crystal, my confirmed sky blue greywing where as Spirit definitely showed darker coloring in comparison. I am super doubtful of myself on some budgie genetics, and wanted to ask the forums to make sure again. The old photos I found made me doubt again whether Spirit was (SF or DF) violet sky or if she was a cobalt. I ruled out DF violet cobalt because I assume a DF violet cobalt would have a different look.
So here are the photos I found plus the ones I've posted in the forums previously for comparison. My commentary for each photo will be directly below the photo I am talking about. Click the photos to enlarge them if needed.
Younger Spirit (Left) and Crystal (Right). This is one of the old photos I stumbled across. Spirit was just a couple months old in this picture. Her first feathers were darker. Crystal was my confirmed sky greywing who was around 4 years old in the picture. Spirit definitely has darker body color than Crystal. Spirit's body color reminded me of pale periwinkles.
I doubt this picture will help much, but here is a photo of younger Spirit standing in front of Crystal. I wish I had better photos of my budgies around that time.
Crystal, my confirmed sky blue greywing in the above photo for comparison to the later photos below. Crystal's sky blue was definitely more "teal" looking compared to the pictures of Spirit as an adult budgie.
Soul (right) and Spirit (left). Spirit had already gone through her first molt in this photo, and was around several months old. Crystal passed away a few months before this photo. Soul never met Crystal. Soul and Spirit had different looking blues. Soul was a sky blue recessive pied budgie. The black from the tip of Soul's tail suffused into her blue rump. This photo and some of the next photos are photos I've posted here before.
Here is another picture of Spirit with a better view of her rump.
Spirit (left) and Soul (right) from a different angle.
Another old photo of Spirit (front) and Soul (back). I believe this was taken either in the afternoon or late morning. My memories of the time I took this photo are vague.
Spirit (left) and Soul (right). I always thought they seemed to be discussing something in this photo. Spirit was more than a year old in this photo.
This was a photo from a better camera compared to the previous photos. The yellow toy was put there by a relative who didn't know about safe toys for birds (the strings were a hazard that worried me). I later removed it.
A different view moments after the previous photo. Spirit had a bulge towards her upper chest area, and I was trying to get her treated for a tumor at an avian vet's.
One of the last few photos I have of Spirit. While trying to treat her, Spirit passed away at the avian vet's on a rainy April day. She lived to be around two years old.

Extra notes: I ran across some photos of a budgie that looked almost like the male version of Spirit. I don't own the bird in the below photos. Although this has no help with figuring out the color mutation of my bird, I just thought the resemblance was almost uncanny.
