Found this little darling in the middle of the street this morning, not able to stand and a very distressed mumma hanging about. I’ve run into the family on numerous occasions over the past couple of weeks on my morning walks. About to head off to the vet’s to see if he can be helped. He is mewling at me as I type, wanting his mumma, I’m sure. Wish us luck!

Oh wow. Lucky you found him. I hope he will be ok. His mum must be frantic so everything crossed

A lucky birdie indeed to be rescued by you! Hope he's doing OK and that his vet visit went smoothly.

I hope the vet can sort him out. Will the mum be waiting for the baby to return do you think, or have you adopted a new baby?

I haven’t heard anything, M. . I rang late yesterday but they were super busy, put on hold for five minutes, as long as I wasn’t an emergency. They were going to ring me with any news, but obviously that hasn’t happened yet. To those that asked, the vets will assess to find the cause of his problems (might be a paralysis tick) and to see if he can be rehabilitated. If so he will go to a qualified wild life career, to be cared for until old enough to be released. I don’t get to “keep” him just because I found him. Unfortunately I can’t tell his mum that.

Got my fingers crossed that the little one can be helped and eventually released in the wild. Here's hoping his mum is not too upset.
