Today is a day for finding new places to perch. Munchy has selected the bathroom doorhandle, as the bedroom one is half covered by dressing gowns. Yuki does not understand that the doorhandle is not big enough for the three of them. Meanwhile, the top of the seagrass has become a popular new date sight. Indie has tried out the woven tunnel in its new location. Yuki and Indie have both been on different sucker perches on the windows. Yuki tested out the top of the laundry bin. And the pair of them flew in and out of the bathroom, watched by Munchy on the floor, whilst I was showering. Obviously couldn't get footage of that. They were too nervous to land anywhere, but it got them exercising.

I know! Munchy loves them, I really don't know why. Must be cold!

Love it, enjoy. I used to moan when Pip was out, but now he refuses to come out and I miss it.

suesbird That is sad. I know it seems mean, but can you not make him come out so that he gets his exercise? I used to have to force Indie and Yuki out and shut the cage door because Indie was so stubborn about being inside and Yuki stuck to him too much to influence him otherwise.

He gets stressed and doesn't fly well, I'm afraid he will have a heart attack or something. He has a very large cage to move around. When I have got him out the first thing he does is go back into his cage. He will be 6 this month. Otherwise he is a very happy and very noisy bird!

Ah, yeah, don't want to stress him. As long as he is happy, that's the important thing.

suesbird Mine were also not coming out of the cage due to two reasons mainly: the moult and the changes in the cage and room. I tried a couple of days by putting some treats right on the platform perch at the cage door. Once they were out to eat the seeds they flew out to the room.. they also love eating from my hand.. so I moved my hand near the cage door to guide them come out..

I missed them climbing on the network of teething rings, but managed to capture some Indie and Yuki time. We can all hope that Pip one day finds outside exciting again. At least he has a spacious bedroom and a loving mum.
